About
Mikael is a unique combination of solution architect and system developer with a strong solution-oriented mindset. He has experience in leadership roles such as IT Manager and Head of IT Development, as well as hands-on involvement in system development projects — primarily working with C#.NET and a wide range of frameworks. Mikael is especially appreciated in his teams for his creativity, analytical skills, and problem-solving ability. Throughout everything he does, he brings a big heart and strong passion. He constantly works according to what he believes is the right path for the business. Perhaps Mikael’s greatest strength is his deep understanding of the domain for which he develops technical solutions. He also has broad technical expertise and masters the full stack, although his core strength lies in the logic-heavy backend parts. Mikael lives in Täby with his family and two children, aged 16 and 18. In his free time, he enjoys playing padel and spends winters at the family’s apartment in Spain, where alpine skiing is also nearby. Mikael’s biggest passion is technology — he started programming at the age of 8.
Work Experience
System Developer .Net
2024 - 2024SH Pension
Mikael has, for SH Pension, built an SSEK gateway in .NET used for communication with, among others, minPension and Försäkringsfabriken. In connection with a migration project where SH Pension is replacing its custom-built insurance systems with Lumera, Mikael has also built integration components that make it possible for external parties to retrieve information about insurance portfolios in MisLife format, from both the new and old systems simultaneously, enabling a seamless transition. Mikael has also updated several legacy components from .NET Framework to .NET 8 and streamlined design patterns across all updated components. A number of shared NuGet packages have taken shape, simplifying configuration, internal API communication, logging, and encryption. During the assignment, he’s also worked on other features – including a new implementation of BankID login with secure start and dynamic QR codes. Technologies used: C# .NET Core, Azure DevOps, Azure Service Bus, Azure App Configuration, SQL Server, Entity Framework Core, ASP.NET Blazor, REST APIs, Lumera, SSEK, Fullmaktskollen, MisLife, SOAP, BankID

2023 - 2024AddEqt AB
Mikael has, on behalf of AddEqts, specified requirements, designed, and developed system support for managed portfolios at Nordnet — initially using BFS (from Huddlestock) but later also as a standalone system. The system includes not only rebalancing, but also: - Fee calculation - Value development tracking - Benchmark development - Performance-based fee calculation (compared to benchmark) - Quarterly reporting - Notifications in case of portfolio value decline - REST APIs used in the client portal for displaying portfolio information to advisors and end clients Technologies used: C# .NET Core, GCP, Postgres, Entity Framework Core, ASP.NET Blazor, REST APIs
CTO / Solution Architect
2017 - 2023Alpcot AB
Mikael has built the entire platform that alpcot.se runs on from the ground up. This includes everything from procurement and configuration of the back-office system from FA Solutions, to building integrations with insurance companies for importing customer insurance data and executing fund switches. He’s also developed integrations with: - The MFEX fund trading platform - SEB’s DMA service for stock trading - Automated currency exchange (via FIX) based on executed trades in the custody service - Automated fund trading as part of portfolio management - Monthly savings and fund switching functions in the custody platform - Internal tools for reconciliation of positions and transactions, annual statements, etc. In many of these development projects, Mikael has taken on both the product owner and system architect roles, and has often built the backend parts himself. Some examples of integrations Mikael has built: - An SSEK engine with two-way communication with Alecta - A FIX engine for trading stocks and currencies via SEB - A Tink REST API client for importing customer accounts and holdings - REST API-based communication for importing customers, portfolios, instruments, prices, orders, and transactions into the FA Solutions portfolio management system - SOAP-based order handling with the MFEX fund trading platform He has also configured the entire Azure infrastructure and set up DevOps pipelines for CI/CD. Technologies used: C# .NET Core, Azure AD, Redis Cache, Azure SQL, Blob Storage, Entity Framework Core, ASP.NET Blazor, REST APIs, SPAR, BankID, FIX, SSEK
System Developer
2017 - 2017SEB
Further developed an integration engine in the form of a microservice for the service "Back Office for Hire". The service allowed clients to submit executed trades, which were read by this microservice. The messages were mapped, split, and converted into the appropriate format, then delivered to a message bus for import into Calypso. Several new contract types were added during the project, such as currency swaps. Technologies used: C#, TFS, MS SQL Server, Entity Framework, Calypso, Redis, Microservices
Lead Developer
2016 - 2016Tieto Sweden
Developed a new system for the City of Stockholm to maintain a shared, version-controlled organizational structure database. Based on the requirements specification, Mikael designed the database and backend, and created the design patterns for the entire application. He also implemented the API code that connects the database with the frontend components of the application (built with ASP.NET MVC and jQuery). Technologies used: MS SQL Server, Entity Framework, ASP.NET MVC (C#), jQuery, Bootstrap
